Chesterton Lacrosse COVID protocol
Chesterton Lacrosse Club’s COVID plan is designed to keep all students, coaches and trainers safe during the current pandemic. We will follow DSC and CDC guidelines and adjust our protocols according to the responses to remain in accordance to both entities. Practice/Game- during high transmission periods
All participants will wear proper attire including shirts for the entire practice/game.
Players will come to the field fully outfitted and leave their bags and extra gear in their vehicles or designated location taking social distancing into account.
- No gathering or handshaking
Players will provide their own water in a non-breakable bottle labeled clearly with their name.
- No shared food or drinks
- If a player does not have hydration they will not be permitted to participate in activities.
All players, coaches, trainers must have their temperature taken before entering in the practice or game fields. A temperature greater than 99.6 must be reported to the head coach/designee and the player must refrain from practice until 24 hours fever free without fever reducing medications.
A participants will answer the following screening questions:
- Have you had a cough, sore throat, fever or diarrhea?
- Have you or anyone in your household been in direct contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19?
Immediately after screening players are to go directly to practice/game areas.
- When possible athletes and coaches should practice social distancing.
- When not possible face covering will be required.
- Chesterton Lacrosse will provide 1 style of a basic washable face mask.
- If this style will not work for your player for any reason, the player will be responsible for providing their own mask.
All shareable equipment shall be sanitized after each practice/game.
- There will be no whistles or cone style megaphones.
- Sticks must be cleaned before and after each practice/game.
In an effort to limit paper exchange Chesterton Lacrosse will use our website, social media and team manager accounts to communicate with players and families.
Spectators will need to adhere to all social distancing guidelines and should refrain from attending practices/games if they answer yes to either of the above questions.
